Tony Gwynn came out of surgery at 1 a.m. PT Wednesday. At 8:30 a.m. local time Wednesday morning, he was already talking, drinking water and laughing.
Tony had another surgery yesterday for mouth cancer. That tobacco is dangerous stuff. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Garry is the new manager of the Yuma Panthers (the recently renamed Scorpions) of the independent North American League. This means he'll be returning to his old spring stomping grounds at Desert Sun Stadium and the Kroc Sports Complex out in Yuma. He replaces outgoing manager and former steroid filled MLB slugger Jose Canseco.
Basically, it's a minor league deal for a veteran pitcher. Nothing wrong with that.
