These are All-Stars?
I’ve only heard of a handful of them.
jbox - July 15, 2008
There should be an "I don't care"
option in the poll.
Winfield's Ghost - July 15, 2008
I second that motion.
EllieK - July 15, 2008
We already know that nobody cares
it’s a given.
jbox - July 15, 2008
NL Lineup
Doesn’t look half bad stacked up there.
Axion - July 15, 2008
Senior Circuit Baby
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Chipper's wife is hot.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Come again?
Compared to what?
btw, I like you guys – I hope you folks don’t mind if I chime in here and there – the open thread on my side is kinda dead sometimes. :(
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Ok
But at some point, we’re going to make you wear a Friar hat.
Axion - July 15, 2008
Pretty sure
You could do some photoshop work there with roy’s avatar. Just an idea…
Winfield's Ghost - July 15, 2008
Once
I was THIS close to getting a foam baseball from the Friar when I was at Petco six weeks ago. Does that count for anything?
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Umm... I'm gonna say "no"
...just because.
Axion - July 15, 2008
Oh Oh Oh
5 o clock. 2 Hour pregame ceremonies!
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Hey, alright!
With 15 minutes of actual programming parsed throughout! REVENOOZ!
Axion - July 15, 2008
Boooooooooooooo!
Bud Black! You Suck! Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Wow
I wonder what’s going on through David Wright’s head, knowing that he was an injury away from not making the squad?
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Wait Wait Wait.
Adrian IS there? Strange…
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AL
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO RED SUX BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
I'd love to see Tito...
...tell ALL the AL closers to stick it, and put in Joakim Soria to pitch the 9th.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Nice
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Go Adrian!!
I hope he does something awesome, like hit a double or a homer. Or makes a diving catch.
Zach (maestro876) - July 15, 2008
Is Tony there?
I swear they’ve showed every HOFer except him.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
There he is.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Oh i forgot we have two HOFers
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Wow
Nice sneakers,
ForrestA-Rod.royhobbs - July 15, 2008
I love Yogi
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
I get it now
This is why the AL always wins.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Oh
I thought it was because of the bats of his, that are made from wood from a magical forest in the northern outskirts of Hokkaido.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Ichiro does not get any hits
he merely runs out of the box like a little pussy and beats out routine groundouts.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Jonny Dub is gonna be so pissed
Winfield's Ghost - July 15, 2008
That
was one of the more interesting things about the tour of Safeco. There are tounge depressors on the Seattle bench that mark where Ichiro’s bats are supposd to sit during the game. He allegedly travels with a climate-controlled steel humidor for his bats that he buckles into the seat next to him on his flights. It’s crazy and completely OCD, but I think it’s pretty awesome.
Phantom - July 15, 2008
Has anyone ever inspected these bats?
That’s like Al Queda suspicious to me. Also completely narsacistic.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
It's certainly borderline psychotic.
Phantom - July 15, 2008
Ichiro is a terrorist!
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Yes
His owning of the hits record is payback for Hiroshima. Him getting into the HOF will be for Nagasaki.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
sheryl crow?
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Super Sweet
They had a Stealth Bomber fly over!
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
How could you tell?
Axion - July 15, 2008
Um
I saw it on TV. It’s not painted in camo, you know.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
But...
it’s stealth!
Axion - July 15, 2008
To AA guns maybe
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Here we go!
LET’S GO NL. EVEN THOUGH I DON’T CARE.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
That wasn't even close to a strike.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
It's the all-star game.
They’re adopting the Eric Gregg strike zone, so that they can all get the hell out of there to make up for the 45 minutes of pointless pre-game. Probably instructed by Selig.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Nice sig
by the way. Loved that movie.
Phantom - July 15, 2008
Thanks
I loved the movie as well.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Joe McCarver
still a douchebag. On Ramirez’ at-bat “Looks like a cut fastball in on the hands”
Excpet that it was a change-up outside.
Phantom - July 15, 2008
They really
are calling anything close.
Phantom - July 15, 2008
Weak
Utley should have made that play. E-Gon would have.
Phantom - July 15, 2008
Or Tad or Miles
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Miles
all the way. Then he would have run back into the dugout and punched Zambrano for good measure.
Phantom - July 15, 2008
The Phillies can only wish
to be as good as a Padre
strummer - July 15, 2008
Ben Sheets
He’s by no means a CC Sabathia size, or even Heath Bell. But he seems to wear their size uniform, if anyone else’s noticed.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Ahh good job
Way to get the Padre reference in there.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
I try
But I do like Heath Bell. I really admired the way he played in the 163 game last year, and how he owned the Rockies for 2 innings.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
It's to conceal his HGH supply.
Phantom - July 15, 2008
I'm out
got softball. Go NL!
Phantom - July 15, 2008
Stupid Rockie.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
So Hopefully
A padre doesn’t take the loss for the 3rd straight year.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Chipper with the only NL hit so far
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
woot
This time, I can cheer for a Brave without pissing off the locals. . . I hope. :)
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
This time
I actually exclaimed “Chipper!” with joy.
Axion - July 15, 2008
As long as you don't scream "frenchie" in my ear
when francoer comes up
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Don't worry
He’s on a very short leash with lots of Atlanta fans this season.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
What the hell is a frenchie anyway?
Is he from France?
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Gah... French people
They force more silent letters onto you than a BornAgain pushing Saviors.
Axion - July 15, 2008
You know
I’ve heard so many different things. His parents are both southern teachers, but the name “Francoeur” supposedly has French roots. That’s the most common reasoning I hear.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Was he born on a bayou?
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Born and raised
In the Atlanta area. A local high school hero, and made his way into the bigs. Actually could’ve played with Khalil Greene at Clemson, because he got a full ride, but he decided to stick with baseball when the Braves drafted him.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
He sure swings at everything like Khalil Greene
Although he makes a little more contact.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
I hate to steal this from one of you guys
But I raise your “It’s Khalil Greene” with “it’s Jeff Francoeur.”
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
LOL Budweiser
1876-2008 RIP
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Woooo!
America is having a going out of business sale and the prices are CHEAP!!
Axion - July 15, 2008
Braun sucks
Bad pitch to wave and miss at.
Axion - July 15, 2008
Great AB Manny!
The Kipper - July 15, 2008
Whatever you people do
Do NOT turn it to ABC.. or you might never come back.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Wait
That might be EST only … my bad if it is.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
What is it?
I survived a Japanese Game show?
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Never seen it before!
Some wild stuff.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
You've never seen MXC?
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Oh I've seen MXC
But this is different .. being on network television, it has more of an innocence behind it.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Isn't there another new
elimination/Japanese/elimination game show coming out soon too?
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Heck if I know
I hardly watch TV other than baseball or watch DVDs
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Ah here we go
Also on ABC. Seems to be more like MXC.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
I'm having a hard time
Staying on the All-star game.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
With Bud Black in the dugout
the NL cant lose
strummer - July 15, 2008
I wonder how many innings Bud Selig
wants Sheets in there? 6? 7?
The Kipper - July 15, 2008
"No hotter hitter in the majors than Dustin Pedroia"
Nice call Joe Buck… I suppose he’s never paid attention to Chipper and his .379 average.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Or the other 11 players with higher BAs
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Actually
I take back what I said about Francona using Soria. He could’ve avoided ALL pitcher controversies by starting Roy Halladay, and letting him go all nine, thus rendering a big stfu to all other AL pitchers.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
What dumbshits voted for Fuckodome?
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Illinois
All of it
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Half of Tokyo
Roughly 18 billion people
The Kipper - July 15, 2008
did the other half vote for ichibitch?
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
it will be a sad day
strummer - July 15, 2008
when yogi dies?
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
yes
i accidently hit post
strummer - July 15, 2008
Smack one, or get booed out of New York Utley
The Kipper - July 15, 2008
AWESOME GAME SO FAR!
The Kipper - July 15, 2008
That's embaressing
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Hard to believe Hamilton has 95 RBI
What is the single season record?
The Kipper - July 15, 2008
Hack Wilson
190 I think
strummer - July 15, 2008
What inning is it?
I couldn’t stop watching ABC.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
1-0 NL
Around the 5th I think? lol
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
lol
The show ended just in time for me to see the NL superiority take over.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
NL Superiority!
NL West! Boosh!
Axion - July 15, 2008
Matt Holliday
*claps hands together once
Axion - July 15, 2008
two on two out for Jetes
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
I live for thi-whoops
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
most overrated player in baseball?
sdpads24 - July 15, 2008
all the red sox
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Here comes the NL!
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Listen to Joe Buck
...making excuses for Duchscherer.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Lincecum got sent to the hospital???
with flulike symptoms?
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
That sucks for him
...but I wonder what it really is. “Flu-like symptoms” has been a pseudonym for drunkeness, hangovers, diarrhea, among many other mystery sicknesses.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
I thought that was
exhaustion and dehydration
strummer - July 15, 2008
Why are these stats
counting for my fantasy team?????
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
ADRIAN IS IN!!!!!
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Adrian's in the game!
Taking over at first
SD Chick N - July 15, 2008
I'm totally not standing up
or removing my sombrero
matthewverygood - July 15, 2008
Why didn't they show Josh Groban's face?
He just sang God Bless America and they didn’t do one close up. Weird.
SD Chick N - July 15, 2008
Adrian's going to get up next half inning?
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
I hope he gets us a lead back
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Stupid Volquez
YOU SUCK!
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Yeah… the NL Central sucks.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
almost as bad as the NL worst
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
I hate the American League
SD Chick N - July 15, 2008
Second
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Third
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
All in favor?
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Aye!
SD Chick N - July 15, 2008
Adrian on deck!!
SD Chick N - July 15, 2008
OVERRATED! CLAP CLAP, CLAP CLAP CLAP
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
That was classic
strummer - July 15, 2008
TWO RUN SHOT!
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
FLY BALL FOR THE LEAD!
AGONE!
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
The man gets it done!
Love it.
SD Chick N - July 15, 2008
Look at that
Adrian Gonzalez intimidated Papelbon so much, he threw a bad pitchout. Now he’ll get the go-ahead, and be named MVP, so that GLB can celebrate something without it causing a loss and jeopardizing the strasburg.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
AMEN!
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Sad to say, but I think Holliday will get MVP
If score stays like this
matthewverygood - July 15, 2008
Whatever...
As long as Aid has the game winning RBI. I’m cool with that.
Drama - July 15, 2008
Maybe Not
Holliday only got one run….which is now irrelevant.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Who gets it then?
Drama - July 15, 2008
Adrian duh.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Pujols, Berkman are out, so that means Adrian’s staying in at 1B. He gets a hit, on top of that RBI, he should be solid for MVP.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Ehhhh....
It was a medium depth flyout…I mean,
Khalil could have done that.Drama - July 15, 2008
Maybe Tejada?
He got the lead off single and stole 2nd and got to 3rd…?
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Well...he did get to 3rd on a horrible throw.
I mean, of the 18 guys that have played catcher for s this season…have you seen a throw that bad?
Drama - July 15, 2008
Piazza?
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
2007
And…be nice to Christina.
Drama - July 15, 2008
That's OK
I would have said it had I been at the computer! I knew my man’s weakness.
Christina - July 15, 2008
Chicks dig the long ball
Chicks and MVP voters
matthewverygood - July 15, 2008
I like matto's thinking.
Keep the chicks happy.
Drama - July 15, 2008
They are not giving the MVP to Adrian
for a sacrifice fly. Either a pitcher or Holliday will get it.
Maybe Hanley Ramirez who has two hits and scored.
strummer - July 15, 2008
Holliday is BS
He had a meaningless solo homer.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
The score is 3-2
How is that run meaningless?
strummer - July 15, 2008
As soon as the ball cleared the right field fence
the score was 0-0. Adrian puts the NL ahead 1-0.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Hanley is a good call.
He’s crazy awesome.
Drama - July 15, 2008
Somehow
Mariano Rivera will end up with it. There will be a scoreboard malfunction, and the AL will be credited with the win, despite having fewer runs.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
LOL
Good Call.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
As a matter of fact
(recommend)
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Nice, good job by Adrian
matthewverygood - July 15, 2008
ADRIAN WITH THE GO AHEAD RBI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Dream come true.
Aid gets the RBI…Papeldouche blows it. Love it.
Drama - July 15, 2008
amen brother
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Chant...
Did you like the “Mariano” chant best? Or the “Over-Rated” chant?
Drama - July 15, 2008
Over Rated
It’s a classic.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
It really is.
Drama - July 15, 2008
Love Over-rated
Gotta hand it to Yankee fans – best chants
Christina - July 15, 2008
This is so nice to see
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Shit
We are done. Wagner is the NL closer.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
WAGNER???
I’d rather have Lindsey Wagner.
Drama - July 15, 2008
Wagner in 8th?
That means we’ll get Lidge in the 9th. I need a hug.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Wagner better not shit his pants here.
I want the Brewers to have home-field advantage in the WS.
Drama - July 15, 2008
Brewers V Rays.
AWESOME.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
At least he doesnt have to face
Tony Clark
strummer - July 15, 2008
Nothing would be funnier to me
Then if the Cards win the division with Todd Wellemeyer and Braden Looper anchoring that pitching staff, while both the Cubs and Brewers go home.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Effing Wagner.
Awful.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
They're yanking Uncle Milty for Longoria?
Drama - July 15, 2008
Thatcher in the 9th?
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
That's what Bud is telling Hurdle right now.
“Shut up, Harry. Read your f**king US Magazine.”
Drama - July 15, 2008
Billy Wagner
about as good as Joe Thatcher.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Wagner you suck!!!!
Drama - July 15, 2008
BILLY WAGNER IS EFFING AWFUL.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
A rook...a rook in the All-Star Game.
Unreal.
Drama - July 15, 2008
MVP?
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
F for Wagner
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Time to poke our heads in at Amazin' Ave?
LOL
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Oh man.
They must KILLING him.
Can’t blame Willie for this one!
Drama - July 15, 2008
Adrian with the go ahead HR??
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
I'm rooting for him
Or Brian McCann.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
That works.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
How in the hell?
He comes in with TWO OUT and NOBODY on. And blows it.
Drama - July 15, 2008
Easy
He’s Billy Wagner.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
In the infamous words of Drama
“UNREAL”
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Ha.
Somehow Bud Black has to be responsible.
Drama - July 15, 2008
Seriously
Bud Black being in the dugout has doomed the NL from the start.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
I almost forgot
Our closer blew it two years ago. But he had to get THREE outs.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Tie ball game goes to the AL
jbox - July 15, 2008
Bud is getting ready to call it.
In respect of Yankee Stadium…I call this game for the AL!
Drama - July 15, 2008
So we got to Papelbum already...
Can we get to Urkel?
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
The AL list of closers is insane.
Drama - July 15, 2008
Francona
Why is he burning Mariano already??
Drama - July 15, 2008
Because it’s the 9th. Screw strategy, Rivera in the 9th, at Yankee Stadium.
If he blows it, massive lawls.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
OK
THIS is the exact reason why the winning the All Star Game and getting home field advantage in the World Series is such bullshit.
Francona is ONLY putting in Mariano right now because he’s scared if he holds him….and the AL wins in the bottom of the 9th…he’ll get killed. He’s not managing to win. He’s managing to make everybody happy. Stupid.
Drama - July 15, 2008
AND
Francona ain’t Clint Hurdle here folks…Francona has a real shot of being in the WS. He could seriously gain from winning this game. Again…stupid.
Drama - July 15, 2008
Well
being in New York, Francona has a real shot of getting murdered brutally if he didn’t put Mo in the game.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Actually
New York City has the lowest crime rate of any big city in the United States.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Thanks, Wonko.
Drama - July 15, 2008
I know
That one was meant to be sarcastic, but it’s sometimes hard to convey in just plain text.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
That happens alot around here.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
I can't wait to see the Post tomorrow.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Now is as good as any time for Rivera to blow a save
The good news is, it doesn’t really count against the Yankees, if he does. Get that little bit of suck out your system, and get back to the regular season.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Sweet.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
How come we have to use Wagner and Lidge???
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Did Wilson pitch?
Drama - July 15, 2008
Yes
He got the first two outs for Wagner.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Go ahead HR in the top of the 10th for Adrian
You heard it here first!
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
...followed by a back-to-back from Brian McCann!
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
McCarver is such a jerk-off.
Drama - July 15, 2008
I got a great idea
How about this game goes into the 13th inning, and Kazmir is lifted, and the AL runs out of pitchers?
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
So Selig can proclaim a tie?
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Brilliant!!
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Hobbs
You fit in well here, my friend.
Drama - July 15, 2008
This evening has been totally worth it then
:)
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
KKK
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Of course Cook warming up
even though he has no g0dly business in this game.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Why is Russell Martin in the game?
what does he have like 10 hrs and 40 rbis? wow.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
lol
Drama - July 15, 2008
While McCann sits
With his higher average, more homers, more RBIs.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Not to mention
alot sexier.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Winfield
I came here expecting a lot of anger over Winfield’s decision to take off his Padre cap and show off his Yankee cap. I’m disappointed Gaslampers.
thenerdhater - July 15, 2008
Padres didnt pay him enough
to keep wearing it.
strummer - July 15, 2008
He didn't put on the Yankee hat.
Plus a few other guys did that I noticed.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Looked like Gary Carter did the same thing
But when Winfield did it, I think it reminded people of the payoff
strummer - July 15, 2008
Carter did the same thing
for the same reason..he’d prefer to be known for his NY team….he was forced to go in as an Expo.
thenerdhater - July 15, 2008
Winfield wasnt forced to go in as a Padre
He was bribed. Once MLB caught wind of it , they changed the rules.
Now the player doesnt choose, which is what happened in Carters case
strummer - July 15, 2008
I'm pretty sure if he was bribed
he wouldn’t be working in our FO.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
he accepted money from the padres
to go into the hof as a padre
and he got caught
strummer - July 15, 2008
Uggly than Adrian!
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
my friends brother just said Matt Holliday looks like Kouz
SHOOT ME
iLOVEkouz5 - July 15, 2008
other than being bald
he doesn’t look a think like him
C8LIN B - July 15, 2008
thank you
i dont think he does either
i was ready to drive over and smack the little tart
iLOVEkouz5 - July 15, 2008
That's an insult to Kouz, Holliday just doesn't compare
(He’s my fave, too, but I don’t have as cool of screen name)
kdukat - July 15, 2008
holliday i think is really ugly
and a kinda looks like he is just a douche in person
iLOVEkouz5 - July 15, 2008
I F*CKING HATE YOU UGGLY
ADRIAN WOULD HAVE HAD A CHANCE TO TAKE MVP, AND YOU FUKING BLOW IT. FCK YOU.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
lol
Christina - July 15, 2008
I'm glad you said it
Because I find it lol worthy as well
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
I take all that back, because Uggla SUCKS
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
JD Drew
I hate JD..and when he hit that homer tonight, I was yelling at the TV..and my wife peaks in and says, “What’s HE doing there? isn’t he injured?”
Cracked me up…even she knows enough that JD prefers the DL to the lineup.
thenerdhater - July 15, 2008
Ook, so see, I was pissed
...that the stupid Fox commentators totally IGNORED Adrian when he was at bat. They seem to be waxing poetic about every spare AL player..but Adrian got nothing more than a basic intro. Phooey.
Christina - July 15, 2008
Its a conspiracy
strummer - July 15, 2008
AND THEN A ROUTINE GROUNDBALL EATS HIM UP
SECOND ERROR BY A MARLIN TONIGHT.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
oh fer
Damn you Uggla!!!!!!!!!!!
Christina - July 15, 2008
WTF?
Christina - July 15, 2008
THREE ERRORS FROM MARLINS TONIGHT
TWO BY UGGLA IN A ROW.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Wow
Uggla totally sucks.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Hits into a DP with Adrian on deck
...now ruins the chance for Aid to get another at bat by single handedly handing the AL the game.
Christina - July 15, 2008
Dear Dan Uggla
Your Dad wishes he were dead right now.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
LOL
(recommend)
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
oooo..harsh..but I also chortled
Christina - July 15, 2008
why are we loading the bases with no outs???
iLOVEkouz5 - July 15, 2008
Wow, Uggla's choke job is almost worse than Hoffman's of a couple years ago.
JollyWaffle - July 15, 2008
OUCH
Christina - July 15, 2008
Sizemore
...should split his soon to be MVP award with Uggla
Christina - July 15, 2008
seconded.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
hah - now he proves me wrong!
Christina - July 15, 2008
Way to take your sweet time Uggly
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
FINALLY!
Props for Adrian
Christina - July 15, 2008
Nice pick, Adrian!
JollyWaffle - July 15, 2008
Oh man
Longoria is going for MVP right now.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
We need to keep calling it
...seems to jinx them
Christina - July 15, 2008
ok, so Longoria gets the MVP then
at least he will have earned it…
Christina - July 15, 2008
whoooaa
they mentioned gonzalez. unbelievable
sdpads24 - July 15, 2008
Is it possible they get out of this? O_o
JollyWaffle - July 15, 2008
Justin Mourneau
soon to add the NVp trophy to his Home Run Derby trophy
Christina - July 15, 2008
WOW
that was actually a fun inning
Christina - July 15, 2008
Holy crap
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Wow
Dan Uggla owes Aaron Cook a BJ.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
rec’d
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
LOL
You are on fire!
Christina - July 15, 2008
YES!!
I have no idea why I care so much about this. It doesn’t mean squat for the Padres.
JollyWaffle - July 15, 2008
Aaron Cook =MVP
represent the NL west
sdpads24 - July 15, 2008
Good stretch by Adrian to get that high throw
SD Chick N - July 15, 2008
Adrian for MVP?
JollyWaffle - July 15, 2008

Drama - July 15, 2008
Agon!
Professional Hitter
Christina - July 15, 2008
MVP! MVP!
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
His blazing speed well get us the win!!
Drama - July 15, 2008
Adrian's puttin' on a show!
JollyWaffle - July 15, 2008
Very nice
I was hoping he’d get a hit for you guys
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Where's Mcann?
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Hurdle
Clearly forgot about him.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Oh, here he is
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
I always thought...
McCann was more of a resemblance as Sean Astin, the guy who played Rudy, Mikey, and Samwise the hobbit.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
STEAL ADRIAN!!!!
Drama - July 15, 2008
Adrian!
Doing it.
That next shot of Selig looked like a dead body.
jbox - July 15, 2008
Mets=Suck
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
The NL East is representing horrible
Wagner = BS
Wright = 2K
Utley = 0/2, E (no matter what Buck says)
Uggla = 32 Es
Hanley and Chipper are the only ones with hits/contributions.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Uggla with a GIDP too
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Heehee
On top of all his game-costing errors.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
You know why this is in extra innings right?
‘cause Bud Black is on the bench.
Christina - July 15, 2008
This is usually about the time
that he has to go give PMac a jelly doughnut and send him in to pinch hit.
strummer - July 15, 2008
Everyone but Agone sucks.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
story of his life
C8LIN B - July 15, 2008
Wait a sec
Did we just see a Kansas City Royal in the all-star game?
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Mark Redman?
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Joakim Soria
I guess since we left regulation, it’s okay to bring out the Royals and Orioles and Giants players.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Former Padre.
Can’t believe we just let him slip away.
Drama - July 15, 2008
Tell me the story.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Soria
We left him unprotected in the Rule V draft.
Drama - July 15, 2008
CS
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Listen to how objective
Buck and McCarver are
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
If
Cook gets a BJ from Uggla, imagine what select AL players get from Buck and McCarver?
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
hahahahhaa
no kidding.
Christina - July 15, 2008
OUT!
Christina - July 15, 2008
HOLY
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Sid Bream he ain’t!!
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
8-2
Outfield Assist.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Wow.
This is a GREAT game.
Of course, this is coming from a guy that really only watches the Padres…but, still.
Drama - July 15, 2008
Yeah, my thought too
..about time we saw a decent game.. ;-)
Christina - July 15, 2008
Props to the Dodger
that play was nails by Martin.
Christina - July 15, 2008
C'mon Tie....
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
But how will we ever figure out who gets homefield advantage in the WS????
Baseball will cease to exsist!
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Does it matter...
...if it forces something to actually be done about Bud Selig’s shenanigans?
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Answer
The season started in Japan, it will end there. Game 7 of the world series to be played at wherever the Nippon Ham Fighters play.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
You guys hear that?
I just heard the words “Adrian Gonzalez” on tee-vee.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
weird huh
sdpads24 - July 15, 2008
No kidding. A Padre, mentioned on FOX?? That’s like profanity to them. Buck might get fined for it.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
UGGLY again???
Then Agone :D
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
LOL
Uggla has an “F” on his hat.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
A well deserved "F"
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Here we go
It’s all up to Adrian now.
JollyWaffle - July 15, 2008

JollyWaffle - July 15, 2008

Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
dangit
Christina - July 15, 2008
he is still our MVP
strummer - July 15, 2008
Not his fault
Uggla couldn’t even get a flyball on a closer pitching his second full inning. Adrian’s role was to be piling on the insurance runs.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
DAaaaayum
Anyone see Sheena in the Toyota commercial??
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
WHY THE HELL IS COOK PITCHING A THIRD INNING???????
LIDGE??
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Bud Black told Hurdle
that the NL west has the best pitchers
strummer - July 15, 2008
Lidge
Would give up a towering monumental home run that would actually be the first homer to actually leave Yankee Stadium, and his confidence against Dominicans would be completely destroyed.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
and his own coach is making him do it
sdpads24 - July 15, 2008
They're saving him for a potential save opportunity.
JollyWaffle - July 15, 2008
Uggla
....channeling Chuck Knoblauch.
Drama - July 15, 2008
Cooke
..is pitching his ass off. Gets into jams..gets out…
Christina - July 15, 2008
No offense guys
But it’s nearing 1:00 a.m. on the East Coast. Did they really need to have such an excessive pre-game?
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
hey, i'm getting done over here!
I need to finish packing…stupid game
Christina - July 15, 2008
lol
I was trying to pack while watching Braves/Dbacks before my SoCal trip. . . got nothing done, but at least the Braves won a walk-off homer!
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
This game is NUTS
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
im using gameday
wtf is “defensive indifference”
iLOVEkouz5 - July 15, 2008
So Young
When a runner “steals” a base but the defense doesn’t try to get him out.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
When the catcher
Doesn’t bother throwing to second when someone steals.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
C'mon Tie...
Kazmir’s warming up, and he’s the last pitcher . . .
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
I never know how Wright is an All Star
Everytime I’ve seen him play he’s been AWFUL.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Keep talking shit
He’s responding. I don’t care if he’s a Met. I just want this game to end!
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
He really needs to shorten his swing.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
He is a good player
strummer - July 15, 2008
What a crappy bunt.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
ok
Khalil Greene or a Washington National?
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Khalil could have excuted a better swinging bunt.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Nice
We’ve got the upper hand with pitching. Marmol, Lidge, and Webb left. They only got Kazmir.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
C'MON TIE
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
They're not really SUPPOSED to use Webb, he threw 106 pitches on Sunday
kdukat - July 15, 2008
Niether is Kazmir
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
I'm telling you
A tie is inevitable.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
I really want it to get back to Adrian so he can be the hero,
since him having the game winning RBI was blown by Wagner, and Uggla earlier (since he was on deck with the GIDP)
kdukat - July 15, 2008
I know, so it still gives NL the advantage with two they can use
kdukat - July 15, 2008
I am leary
of “All-star” middle-relievers, like Marmol. Wasn’t he struggling recently?
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
I believe so.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Am I watching a Padres game?
Leadoff hitter gets on…and then dies at first.
Christina - July 15, 2008
I was about to ask if I were watching a Braves game..
...based on the sheer number of LOBs.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Once again, Bud Black is in the dugout
JollyWaffle - July 15, 2008
Nahh
He left after the ninth to take a nap in the clubhouse.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Why is Uggla in this game? He totally sucks!
He’s going to have 3 errors in this game!
kdukat - July 15, 2008
E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Inconceivable!
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
How did Uggla make his High School team with that glove?
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Y'know...
When Brian McCann was 12 years old, he played 2B for his traveling team.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Uggla
Most Errors EVAR
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Good night guys
I gotta take this show upstairs to pack. No more computer time. Nice exchanging commentary with ya!
Christina - July 15, 2008
Dies at the wall...
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Next two hitters need to get on for Adrian
kdukat - July 15, 2008
This MUST be Black's idea
putting Webb in.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Just like ....
It’s his idea to use Martin for a full game, weakening yet another division rival’s key player.
Y’know, instead of appeasing me, and putting in Brian McCann.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Soto Started.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
I'm talking about
number of innings…
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Yeah, kind of sucks to be the ONLY player not used in a 15 inning game
except of course poor Lincecum in the hospital! Okay, so Adrian up this inning again!
kdukat - July 15, 2008
BUT, Martin has been playing AWESOME
kdukat - July 15, 2008
Lidge hasn't played either.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Yeah, but we know he will when the save comes
kdukat - July 15, 2008
Oh lord
Please not Uggla again. How many chances of redemption can a guy get?
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
not enough apprently
iLOVEkouz5 - July 15, 2008
Uggla is 10 times worse than Khalil Greene
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
You can't spell "Uggla"
Without an “F” ... now, at least …
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
TIE
We’re going for a TIE!!
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
HR for MVP?
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Brian McCann
He’s apparently so valuable, he’s not going to be used until the very end.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Poopy
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
I have to be at work in seven hours
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
BRIAN MCCANN IS IN!!!
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSsss
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
I wish this would end so I can vote for who I think will win.
Drama - July 15, 2008
I thought in the AL, you couldn't start an inning after 1am, they have a curfew?
Must not apply to the All Star game?
kdukat - July 15, 2008
GREAT catch.
That is true:
”...league rule prohibiting an inning from beginning after 12:59 a.m.”
Drama - July 15, 2008
Bud Selig
Being on premises probably has a lot to do about that not being enforced.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Wow.
Pretty nice catch.
Drama - July 15, 2008
Well now
If Lidge continues to be the Lidge that I am familiar with, McCann won’t get a single AB.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Uh oh.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Lidge is a mess.
Did the Phillies just re-up him?
Drama - July 15, 2008
That was so not safe
But who cares.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
BS
He just wanted to end the game.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
Corey Hart has a noodle arm.
My God…did that bounce three times???
Drama - July 15, 2008

Drama - July 15, 2008

Nice job NL.
Drama - July 15, 2008
Meh
still have the overall lead.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - July 15, 2008
If only they let Brian McCann in earlier.
He SO would’ve taken advantage of the short porch in right field.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
I'm amazed
The game made me not care if the AL won or not … about 90 minutes ago.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
Dan Uggla
American League All-Star MVP.
royhobbs - July 15, 2008
I already voted for him
even before I read this post…
TheRevRun - July 15, 2008
GLB'ers
You guys are a lot of fun to post with. Thank god this game is finally over. I’m glad Adrian Gonzalez got a hit. I’m glad that Brian McCann made it into the game. We really did witness some crazy baseball, but it just got out of hand. Anyway, I have to work in like six hours, so I will bid you all adieu, good night, take care, I’ll be around. Bud Selig sucks.
