At first it seemed like losing 110 games was impossible. Now with the loss of our best two starters, we might be able to do it. We're on pace to lose 105 games right now. Can we find a way to lose 5 more games to pay tribute to the original Padres major league team?

'69 vs. '08
You can compare the two and wonder if this will be the worst season in Padre history statistically...but other than just the straight numbers, I don’t think there is any comparison.
In ‘69 there were no expectations of having a decent season…much less being a competitive baseball team.
So, regardless if we lose 95 games, 100 games or 110 games it really doesn’t matter. Barring some major miracle, this already is the worst Padre season in the history of the franchise.
In the immortal words of Private Pyle in ‘Full Metal Jacket’: “I am...in a world…of sh*t.”

what if we win every game from here on out
you’re gonna feel real stupid then.

Not at all.
You’ve already blamed me for what has happened up to this point…if we win every game from here on out…I’ll just take the credit.

Worst Seasons
The 1899 Cleveland Spiders were the worst MLB team ever going 20-134.
The modern era record is held by the 1916 A’s going 36-117.
The worst team in the 162 game era is the infamous 1962 Mets with a record of 40-120.
Now I know it’s a long shot, but I’d love to see the 2008 Padres top the ‘62 Mets. If you are going to be this bad you might as well try and be the best at it.
