Somehow they'll end up benching Nady for 38 straight games in what they'll call "a minor clerical error" akin to Milton in "Office Space." If he's going to play well, I'm sure they'll botch it up in some way.
Ryan Klesko's boot world commercials. They must have cost about $1.26 to make, and I think they stole the backdrop from the old Roy Firestone afternoon interview show on ESPN. I have cellphone videos with better production values.

I thought they were clean, if a bit batting practice-ish. I'm tired of that script/logo on the front, bring back the 50s era or 70s era Brave look, their 1990-era uniform's gotta be changed in *some* way.
You could argue that the first week of the year, in cool climes, is an acceptable time to do that to a team, but that's iffy at best. Total garbage move to force them to play a one-off, you're telling me they can't swing a doubleheader somewhere or turn a 2 >3/3>4 at some point?
the best GD NFL announcer on television these days. I don't care if the man chaired his underage hooker, he can call a game better than anyone else out there and has been the best for the last 5 years. It was simply attrition and ESPN not realizing people were sick of Theismann/Patrick/McGuire that kept him out of the top spot there.
Basically, just set up a room with cable feeds and slingboxes, and charge people $10/month for a channel they can access. I'm sure that's wildly illegal, but it seems like a good idea.
So that doesn't matter to me either way, but what KILLS me about that place is the lack of parking on a friday/saturday night, as well as their really poor layout...they cram everyone into one tiny wall for the yogurt, and an even smaller corner for toppings. If they were laid out even remotely well the line would be cut in half.
Again, get to Yogurt Express, that place is the shiznit, a lot cheaper, as many (if not more) toppings, and aside from the Strawberry Tart yogurt at Y-World, better flavors.
"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."
Espn has been trying to improve...they want Matty..in fact, I think everybody wants him. And they did steal Tom whatever you spell his last name who loves the flag shots
1) We can't get guys over/in
2) Hoffy isn't clutch
3) Jake needs to settle down
4) Khalil's an android or something else not fully human in composition
Anything having to do with those topics gets thrown into those threads!
I'd highly recommend the Toyota Terrace, the second level seats behind home plate. It's about $130 for a pair, but it's a great balance of proximity to home plate + elevated view for perspective. Seats are cushy, you can see the media booths up close, and most of the fans in there are season ticket holders so you'll usually end up around pretty well-versed fans.
I seem to remember some shenanigans with their official website about a concept album from Maynard or something along those lines...maybe that was NIne Inch Nails? Thought it was Tool though.
18 HR's in Petco translates into like 40 in an average ballpark, right? I don't understand what keeps the ball from flying out there, is it the size of the stadium?
close to imploding this thread. Am I the only one that feels the need to stick around for the come-down? Nine innings of adrenaline don't let me walk away so easily.
What a fun night at the park! I witnessed 3 security ejections in the section next to me, Jake was dominant with the arm and the bat, and the guys came through with timely hits. Wow, great job on the thread guys!

Them playing one game in DC last night and then traveling was stupid. For them and the Nationals.
Drama - March 31, 2008
Did you see
those ugly-ass jerseys the broke out last night? Total little-league.
TheThirdGonzalez - March 31, 2008
I thought they were clean, if a bit batting practice-ish. I'm tired of that script/logo on the front, bring back the 50s era or 70s era Brave look, their 1990-era uniform's gotta be changed in *some* way.
California Penal - March 31, 2008
The league should be ashamed
You could argue that the first week of the year, in cool climes, is an acceptable time to do that to a team, but that's iffy at best. Total garbage move to force them to play a one-off, you're telling me they can't swing a doubleheader somewhere or turn a 2 >3/3>4 at some point?

Sexual harasser AND...
the best GD NFL announcer on television these days. I don't care if the man chaired his underage hooker, he can call a game better than anyone else out there and has been the best for the last 5 years. It was simply attrition and ESPN not realizing people were sick of Theismann/Patrick/McGuire that kept him out of the top spot there.

Demoira - March 31, 2008
I need to start a service
Basically, just set up a room with cable feeds and slingboxes, and charge people $10/month for a channel they can access. I'm sure that's wildly illegal, but it seems like a good idea.
California Penal - March 31, 2008
Can you have multiple access
to a slingbox?
planetjeffy - March 31, 2008
Nope.
TheThirdGonzalez - March 31, 2008
How many cable boxes can you
get from the cable company? Do you actually need a tv too?
planetjeffy - March 31, 2008
Don't need a TV
But I know places like bars have multiple boxes of DirecTV or cable, it's just a commercial/residential thing.
California Penal - March 31, 2008
I'm sure some has tried it before.
planetjeffy - March 31, 2008
Nope
Hence the multiple cable feeds.
Of course, maybe if there was some way to get the feed to an end node, then parse it out from there...
I'll have to draw something up at work tomorrow, god knows I'm not gonna get any work done.

Oooooh...
I like the strawberry-banana yogurt with granola in it. Good stuff.
TheThirdGonzalez - March 31, 2008
It's such a rip off and its full of emo asians
don't get the chocolate..its like super heavy and costs 9 buck for the small cup
TheVinylCrocodile - March 31, 2008
I'm a friend of the Asians
So that doesn't matter to me either way, but what KILLS me about that place is the lack of parking on a friday/saturday night, as well as their really poor layout...they cram everyone into one tiny wall for the yogurt, and an even smaller corner for toppings. If they were laid out even remotely well the line would be cut in half.
Again, get to Yogurt Express, that place is the shiznit, a lot cheaper, as many (if not more) toppings, and aside from the Strawberry Tart yogurt at Y-World, better flavors.
California Penal - March 31, 2008
Well, as an Asian..
Those people sorta bug..you should sit down with the people eating and just run out of the store without paying.
TheVinylCrocodile - March 31, 2008
Hah!
As much as I've schemed line-cutting at Valley View in the past, I've never thought about cheezing Yogurt World out of a cup before.
Also, there's never a place to sit in there anyway, so it's a moot point.
California Penal - March 31, 2008

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. If you can afford it
I'd highly recommend the Toyota Terrace, the second level seats behind home plate. It's about $130 for a pair, but it's a great balance of proximity to home plate + elevated view for perspective. Seats are cushy, you can see the media booths up close, and most of the fans in there are season ticket holders so you'll usually end up around pretty well-versed fans.

offspeedkills - March 31, 2008
the beginning of 6 months
of bliss...or hell.
planetjeffy - March 31, 2008
a little bit of both
thats what makes baseball grand.
offspeedkills - March 31, 2008
Work is cutting into my baseball & drinking.
Night all.
Dalton - March 31, 2008
Night gang
Winfield's Ghost - March 31, 2008
Great start...
even though it was against the Astros.
TheThirdGonzalez - March 31, 2008
not as impressive
...as say the Dodgers over the Giants? I mean, it's a bitter rivalry and the Giants are very impressive this year.
Dex - March 31, 2008
If there's a name
That strikes fear into the heart of NL West fans, it's ORTMEIER.
California Penal - March 31, 2008
Hey, the Girl Ants
had their major heat throwing tonight.
planetjeffy - March 31, 2008
Zito's ERA
Looked like my SAT-Math score. Bochy better be doing some FUN things with his money.
California Penal - March 31, 2008
He's buying giant hats
that's very large hats...not Giant hats
planetjeffy - March 31, 2008
Now
that's what "rec" was made for.
TheThirdGonzalez - March 31, 2008
I should be exhausted
but I'm so wired!
Demoira - March 31, 2008
Likewise.
I think you might be the only one left farther East than me.
TheThirdGonzalez - March 31, 2008
there's a few of us east coasters around
but 1 a.m. isn't late. i've gotten used to this...
goose1 - March 31, 2008
I'm going to have to get on a strict conditioning program
Demoira - March 31, 2008
insomnia is more art than science...
try to cultivate a sense of anxious terror. it'll help you stay up as late as you need for those nights the padres go into extras
goose1 - March 31, 2008
my problem's never staying AWAKE
it's falling asleep and then getting up the next morning that's an issue.
Demoira - March 31, 2008
Try binge drinking.
It's been working out for me.
TheThirdGonzalez - March 31, 2008
don't make me worry about you
I already am, with lots of love, don't make it worse. I'm the mother of all worrywarts.
*kisses* and *hugs*
Demoira - March 31, 2008
I kid, I kid.
Just making a joke out of what is the consensus opinion of my free time.
TheThirdGonzalez - March 31, 2008
'kay
worry retired - for now.
i'm sleepy
bed now
Demoira - March 31, 2008
sounds like you're going to have to get fired....
goose1 - March 31, 2008
Baseball Tonight
They are giving soooo much love to Santana right now. Jake pitched better and they probably will barely mention him.
matthewverygood - March 31, 2008
Damn.
Just saw that Peavy came out because he racked his rotator cuff and will be out indefinitely, probably the whole season.
TheThirdGonzalez - March 31, 2008
I can't believe this....
You'd think he would have shown signs of it at some point. MFer.
California Penal - March 31, 2008
LOL
Sidd Finch called. He needs to speak to you.
Winfield's Ghost - March 31, 2008
I don't even think his great arm
Could help us now...
California Penal - March 31, 2008
Best story ever.
Do you happen to be a Tool fan? One year, they put out an announcement that they put out two new free MP3s, named Floor Pail & Anagram.
TheThirdGonzalez - March 31, 2008
Oh man
That is so great.
Winfield's Ghost - March 31, 2008
Maybe it's unfair
due to the time zone differential.
But, yeah, I'm enjoying this.
TheThirdGonzalez - March 31, 2008
Didn't they also do something with their website?
I seem to remember some shenanigans with their official website about a concept album from Maynard or something along those lines...maybe that was NIne Inch Nails? Thought it was Tool though.
California Penal - March 31, 2008
They put up an announcement
that Maynard quit to pursue Christianity... but that was just a mockery of Korn's guitarist.
TheThirdGonzalez - March 31, 2008
That makes me happy
On so many levels.
That solo career's really panning out for that guy...
California Penal - March 31, 2008
still getting used to all these faces staring at me
the old gaslamp was so anonymous...
goose1 - March 31, 2008
God, Gagne really needs to go back to eating 'roids
by the canadian dozen. a term i just made up
goose1 - March 31, 2008
Deux Deux Deux!
(Sorry, Berman's still the funniest thing of 2008 to me)
California Penal - March 31, 2008
I loved that video while it lasted!
It made we want to visit my cousin in Toronto.
TheThirdGonzalez - March 31, 2008
Gagne
was in line for the win at one point.
Charlie77 - March 31, 2008
It's time for El Cotixan!
Conga burrito (carne/rice/beans) awaits.
1-0, baby.
California Penal - March 31, 2008
I've got work in the mornin'
So the sac I must hit.
Night, guys! See you manana!
Demoira - March 31, 2008
Just make sure it isn't mine!
G'night.
TheThirdGonzalez - March 31, 2008
night
goose1 - March 31, 2008
if Zito keeps sucking this bad
I wonder if the Giants would trade him to KT while eating half his salary. He'd regain his form in Petco and off that stupid, stupid giants team.
goose1 - March 31, 2008
Just what the Pads need...
Another starting pitcher, why don't you ask for something useful like a third basemen with power?
Charlie77 - March 31, 2008
Hey, now.
Kouz had a killer rookie season and he ain't getting any worse. Plus, Chase is waiting in the wings in case KK happens to DIACF.
TheThirdGonzalez - March 31, 2008
Exactly. A little backlogged at 3B
Also, the Giants might be able to afford an offense if they unloaded Zito. Or, you know, they can keep starting Ray Durham
goose1 - March 31, 2008
Kouz was good...
18 HR's in Petco translates into like 40 in an average ballpark, right? I don't understand what keeps the ball from flying out there, is it the size of the stadium?
Charlie77 - March 31, 2008
Pretty much.
We were the second-best offensive team on the road.
TheThirdGonzalez - March 31, 2008
Yes.
the OF is massive. but people also cite the 'marine layer' as a factor....i have no idea if that's true or not.
goose1 - March 31, 2008
Oceanic vapor can't help.
I wonder if the gigantitude of the body of water matters since the Great American Smallpark is right on the river...
TheThirdGonzalez - March 31, 2008
Wait..Marine layer?
You mean from Camp Pendleton, or Sea World?
Charlie77 - March 31, 2008
smart ass
Demoira - April 1, 2008
We're -40 entries
close to imploding this thread. Am I the only one that feels the need to stick around for the come-down? Nine innings of adrenaline don't let me walk away so easily.
TheThirdGonzalez - March 31, 2008
BTW..
As a Rockies fan I just wanted to thank you for giving us Marcus Giles. He made good conversation starters during spring training.
Charlie77 - March 31, 2008
As a fan of his,
thanks for giving him a chance.
TheThirdGonzalez - March 31, 2008
Just got back
What a fun night at the park! I witnessed 3 security ejections in the section next to me, Jake was dominant with the arm and the bat, and the guys came through with timely hits. Wow, great job on the thread guys!
sdgaucho - March 31, 2008
900+
on both threads. How it should be!
TheThirdGonzalez - March 31, 2008
Well good job San Diego..
You and LA are leading the division so far and I get to look forward to Kip Wells starting in a makeup game tomorrow...and that's no April Fools!!
Charlie77 - March 31, 2008
I'm glad I don't
have to look forward to Kip Wells.
TheThirdGonzalez - March 31, 2008
I just got back from the game
it was sweet. Looks like you guys dominated GLB. I will post pics and thoughts sometime.
Sam (sdsuaztec4) - March 31, 2008
Do it, Doug!
I love and welcome any and all documentation of a convincing W... or any sort of W, actually.
TheThirdGonzalez - March 31, 2008

i'll tell you bout it. this website is lagging for me right now
