The game is on Fox today. It's the game of the week, which puts crafty veteran David Wells against the young and vivacious rookie something Reyes. Reyes is making his major league debut.
What's Bud Black have to say about all of this?
Bud Black knows his first name so he knows more than me.
Jon and Kev are coming over and we're gonna watch the game and get some In-n-out, because after all that's what a hamburger is all about.
Let's try to be less critical of the Padres today. Perhaps even cut down on the cussing, unless totally necessary. Yes their offense is frustrating at times, yes our pitching isn't perfect and yes we are the best team in the MLB. Let's do this!
GO PADRES! EXPERIENCE IT!

In-N-Out
"Of course, what's a great burger without great fries? At In-N-Out, we know a french fry is only as good as the potato it comes from. That's why we use the highest grade potatoes and ship them fresh from the farm. Then we cut them right in the store, one potato at a time. And cook them in 100% pure, cholesterol-free vegetable oil. To top it all off, we also make our delicious shakes from real ice cream. We wouldn't do it any other way. Because when it comes to burgers, fries and shakes, getting fresh is a good thing."jbox wrong about something? That's a first.

On being more positive
I wasn't on here last night, and I won't be on today (yesterday, 'cause I just felt like it, today, 'cause I don't get to watch the game, like Drama). I'm not boycotting, but it may be better for me anyway. My b/f got on me for being negative. He wasn't wrong, but I was able to explain myself to his satisfaction. I am completely convinced that this offense is underperforming. I don't think we desperately need a big bat, though I wouldn't say no if Big Papi showed up and offered to play for us. What I think is needed is just some good luck, some better at bats, and for the guys to hit like I know they can. And they will. It's just been a rough month so far, and last month wasn't any better.
And it's baseball. As many have pointed out, it's a game based on failure. So it can be hard to stay positive. But I have absolute faith.
Have a great game today, everyone. Enjoy it! Er, I mean, Experience it!

Fox?
I live in LA, and it looks like the MLB game on Fox is Angels/Yankees? WTF??? Where are the Padres/Braves?I guess I don't get the whole "blackout" thing.
Do I get screwed because I'm in LA? We get Angels games anyway on Ch. 9, so I don't understand. Can anyone explain?

I apologize
For my contribution to the cussing and complaining, however, I only promise to cut out the cussing.I stated my case for my frustration on an earlier thread. I am tired of this team just 'making it' to the playoffs. I KNOW this current team will make it. They are GOOD. But - they WILL lose in the post season IF someone does not figure out how to get more production from this lineup. It is appalling to me when I can watch 9-10 year old Little Leaguers move runners along and have 'quality' outs and drive in runs with 2 outs and know that the Padres cannot do it. Chronically cannot do it. And that nobody other than us seems to acknowledge that or seem to care.
See how the Braves just tied it? When we do it - it's a fluke.
Meanwhile, I wont participate anymore today. Guess I should give my negative self a time out.
GO PADRES - there is a little boy in Sweden who wants to come home to a first place team in 3 weeks.
