Something I heard from Jes?s...

I been partying a lot recently cause my wife's on a trip and in the course of my partying (and prepartying and postpartying) I learn some things. I limit my intake of intoxicating beverages so's I can stay sharp and that allows me to hear things.

For example, I was talking to a guy who was seriously f_cking sh_t faced at O'Connells who only identified himself as Jes?s. Me and Jes?s were talking about the Padres and supposedly, he knows some things. Jes?s says that the clubhouse wasn't so mad about the fact that Kottaras got traded for Wells because the word in the clubhouse is that some of the players thought Kottaras was a female private part. I'll spare you the french term for it, but apparently, Kottaras is 6'0" if he were standing in 3 inch heels and he's 180lbs soaking wet and after eating 20 pounds worth of cheesecake. And on top of that, apparently the guy was always soaking wet.

Keep in mind, this is what Jes?s says, and not me. I thought Kottaras was a perfectly fine prospect. I wasn't so sad about losing him just because if there's one type of player that Towers can identify talent in, it's catchers. Backstops as they call them in the business.

David Wells was a welcome addition because that guy is the balls. Good for clubhouse morale to have a guy like that handling your social engagements. And I guess he can throw the ball while we wait to see if Chan Ho Park will ever recover from whatever's ailing him.

Just a question
I just transferred to SDSU, and I went to my first Padres game on Friday night. I was a part of Oakland's LF bleacher group before I came to SD, and I was just wondering what section at Petco is the most spirited? I couldn't really tell from one game (I was in section 302).

I really liked the ballpark, and I can't wait to go back again!

You know...
that's a really good question.  Just the fact that I really have to think may tell you that there isn't a most spirited section.

Can anybody else think of one?

Right Field!
The lower boxes - what are those? Sections 129-135 or something? Tonight it was THE place to be with Jake pitching. The K crew is there all the time. They seem to have the coolest usher. There were two girls doing cheer routines for Jake! I was up in 225  in the first row and I was looking right down there all the time and they seemed to be having a blast. Of course, the fact that Jake pitched such a gem gave them a lot to cheer about.

Since I wont renew my season ticket plan (shoot, I'll have to get a new username here!), I was thinking that for sure next year I will buy tix down around the K crew just to hang with them.

Thanks!
I'll check it out next time I go. I love cheering at games, and the more I watch, I'm starting to become a bigger Padre fan. I figure I can, since my A's are in the AL. Now if only I could bring a drum or flag to Petco...
No noisemakers allowed
That's one gripe I have about Petco. There is a no noisemaker rule. I tried to bring cowbells when Chris Young was pitching, and they wouldnt allow them. Even the real small ones. BTW,I lived in the Eastbay for 6 years, became an A's fan, and sat in the LF bleachers at the Coliseum alot. I loved the drummers and huge flags. Still a HUGE Kotsay fan...
A no noisemaker rule?
That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. And they wonder why they literally have to tell people to make noise before they'll do so.
